How Busy Professionals Can Fit Fitness into Their Lives
Tips & tricks for living that perfectly fit lifestyle
Do you want to get fit without giving up your social life or work? Do you have trouble finding time for a workout with all the duties in your life? Have you ever wondered if it is possible to create or start a fitness routine and still be successful at work?
You’re not alone. The truth is that there are many people out there who struggle with their weight and don’t know where to start. Thankfully, there are solutions. This blog post will show habits that our clients – busy professionals just like you – often use to find success in fitness and careers by incorporating them into their daily routine. After all, we truly live and breathe the mantra “Fitness is a Lifestyle”. We can’t wait to show you how to make it your lifestyle too.
Fit in Little Things Throughout the Day
Taking the stairs may be a cliché piece of advice, but sometimes the most significant truths don’t have to be mind-blowing. So if you do need to go to another floor, take the stairs. But there are other little things you can do to get in some exercise throughout the day.
Do you take the bus or train to work and back? Try getting off a stop early and walk the rest of the way.
Do you drive the car? Park at the furthest possible location. Have a meeting coming up? If it’s a nice day, why not try and make it a walking meeting?
Try Exercising in the Morning
One of the impacts of incorporating a fitness routine into your day is that you may realise you just don’t have enough time. A solution for this problem could be setting your alarm 20 or 30 minutes earlier so you can complete a workout before starting your day.
It could be going on a quick run, doing some drills at home with weights around the house, or following our 3S program. Getting up earlier will give you a boost in energy and set your day off right, and get things started on the healthy side.
And as a bonus, with your workout already done, you won’t have to worry about it for the rest of the day, freeing up your mind to think about other things!
Pack for Fitness
If your work takes you on the road, then pack your suitcase with your workout essentials, so you’re more likely to work out. These things can include running shoes, workout clothes, a swimsuit, light weights, or even a yoga mat.
Research the hotel you’ll be staying at to see if they have fitness facilities. If they do, fantastic! Make use of the gym and get in your workout using either the weights or the treadmill. Throw on that swimsuit and do a couple of laps in the pool.
If there is no gym, make use of your own body weight and do some workouts in your hotel room. After all, you don’t need too much space to do jumping jacks, squats, push-ups, or planks? Our 3S and online daily workouts can be done in 10, 20 or 30-minute formats. Schedule your travelling workouts the way you would a meeting — as an appointment that you can’t miss.
Even if you’re not going anywhere for work, you can still travel with workout gear so that you can take the opportunity to:
- Drop in at the gym on your way home
- Go for a walk or run in the park between meetings
- Go for a swim at the beach or the local pool during your lunch break
It pays to be prepared!
